Syphalax
Demon Prince - Chaotic Evil

History: Syphalax is a Demon Prince (not a true diety) in the plane of Grugar. His power in Grugar is second to that of the Demon Lord Anthranian, whom Syphalax constantly schemes to overthrow.

Syphalax is generally unconcerned with the fate of humans or human affairs except where it can gain him power and aid him in overthowing Anthranian. He once agreed to aid humans in a quest on Grugar in return for an item of power from the knightly order that sent the adventurers. However, he/she took enormous pleasure in making their stay in Grugar as unpleasant as possible, frequently taking action to cause them harm and/or thwart their plans.

Syphalax was overcome by the Demon Lord Anthranian a few years ago when Syphalax's soulname was revealed. However, Anthranian had uses for Syphalax, and released him from imprisonment a few months later.

The plane of Grugar was once a pleasant place, until the demons overran it. Now it is a hideous mockery of its former beauty, with many dangers.
